Reinforced Glass Clamp for Prusa I3 V2 (for PEI plate)
thingiverse
While constructing a reserve glass/PEI with a plate from another vendor, I encountered a problem with the washer not making good contact with the Glass due to its tight tolerances. As a result, I've published an updated version, V2, which features a deeper depression for the washer to avoid this issue entirely. It's been some time since I remixed things: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1127784, so I decided to take a fresh approach given my recent bed installation with a PEI plate. This design sits perfectly flush with the surface of the bed and eliminates any risk of the glass sliding up for any reason (such as removing a stuck part). To secure this new component, I used an M3 screw with a conic head and a fender washer. To ensure that the screw blends seamlessly with the washer, I employed a conic bit to shape it. The PEI was then carefully cut around the washer, allowing me to remove the small piece of excess material. This updated part also facilitates the easy insertion of a cork or cardboard insulator under the heated PCB. There are two symmetrical STL files available for printing. You'll need to print two identical parts. The accompanying pictures should provide a clear understanding of the entire process. If you have any questions or require further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out.
