I broke my spool holder for my Taz, and I had to make another one. THis one is heavily reinforced to handle full 5lb rolls at high machine speeds. It uses a half round piece of Teflon and a press fit bushing. The bushing came out of the stock Taz arm, but you should be able to find similar ones from Mcmaster Carr, which also sells suitable Teflon. The Teflon half round is about 1/4" Mine is just slid in place. Gravity and the side slot chamfer hold it down. You could glue it, but its Teflon.

I would recommend printing this in the strongest material you have. PLA is likely not suitable long term.

Uses an M5 bolt for mounting to any suitable 20mm frame, would also work well on flat surfaces with a washer.

Print instructions

Unassociated tags: frame mounted, too cool for spool

Category: 3D Printer Parts Summary

I broke my spool holder for my Taz, and I had to make another one.
