Reinforced and Altered Taz extruder mount
prusaprinters
This is basically a reinforced extruder mount with a duct. it is modled off the Taz 6 prototype extruder body, and borrows duct ideas from several sources. it does weigh more than stock, but I believe this unit may help eliminate some issues in prints due to nozzle harmonics in corners. This will only fit a Hexagon Hotend, it is not designed for use with the Buddaschnozzle. Having now attached this to my machine, I can indeed confirm this does reduce some nozzle harmonics. New revision: 3.1b removes the small overhang that was in the way of the back mount track that you may have encountered when trying to fit this to the Taz Extruder Carriage V notch. Anyone who prionted the older one, you can safely fix that issue by trimming that piece off of the Reinforced and Altered Taz extruder mount Print instructionsCategory: 3D Printer Parts Summary This is basically a reinforced extruder mount with a duct. it is modled off the Taz 6 prototype extruder body, and borrows duct ideas from several sources. it does weigh more than stock, but I believe this unit may help eliminate some issues in prints due to nozzle harmonics in corners. Everything else may be printed without it. You want a high infill for this one as it is structural. PLA is not appropriate here due to the danger of heat warp. Post-Printing Instructions You will need 3 M3 heat set inserts for the main extruder mount, 4 m3 heat set inserts for the hexagon duct, and another 4 if you choose to print the optional stock taz fillament cooling duct, which may be found in http://devel.lulzbot.com/TAZ/accessories/extrusion\_fan/STL\_&\_g-code/ . You will also need several M3 bolts (probably 10mm long) M3 washers (3) and several small zip ties for cable pathing.
