Reinforced and altered Quick fit X Carriage for Igus pillow block bearings
prusaprinters
I've been using the Quick Fit X carriage by Yurykk for a few months now, and it works great, but it has a few issues in my particular setup. The belt clamp position were too close to the back of the motor by 5mm, there was not sufficient clearance without modification to remove a budaschnozzle 1.2 equipped extruder, and there was a small amount of flex in the entire carriage. I have attempted to rectify those issues. This carriage has slightly more mass than the origional, and is designed to require heat set inserts for the rear bearing mounts and the fan / accessory mount under the platform. I was going to try and make a 3 point carriage, but the hole for the extruder hot end is just too big to be able to get a good offset for the front bearing in the event of a single bearing, so I left it at 4 bearings. I did space the rear bearings out a bit since the room was already there. Way experemental, i'll print one and see how it works here shortly Noticed I managed to draw the conversion backwards from how I need the latch on my machine, so here's an identical, but mirrored STL as well. The other one printed fine, will upload pictures later. Instructions Print it out, then insert M3 heat set inserts at the appropriate locations for the back bearings, belt mount points and the accessory mount up front. You will need the same 605 bearing and hardware for the latch as you would for Yurykk's variant.
