REI Flex-Lite Chair Feet
thingiverse
The REI Flex-Lite camp chair is an excellent choice, but it comes with some drawbacks that you should be aware of. It lacks a cupholder, which can be a major inconvenience for those who enjoy sipping their coffee or beer while camping. Additionally, the chair can be unstable at times, making it difficult to sit comfortably. The designers of this chair intended to increase stability by widening the base and providing a larger surface area in contact with the ground. However, the pointy feet tend to sink into soft ground, which can make the chair wobbly. To improve the stability of your REI Flex-Lite camp chair, you can create some custom feet using 3D printing technology. First, print four copies of the foot design, using a relatively dense infill setting (around 25%) for the bottom 10mm or so. I recommend using PETG filament for this project, but PLA can also work if you're willing to use a heat gun to soften the piece before attaching it to the chair. Once you have your printed feet, simply snap them onto the chair's legs using a little force. The PETG feet should fit securely without any issues.
