The Cable Guardian is a clever cable strain relief device that safeguards sockets from damage when cables are accidentally pulled loose. Once was after a slight camera shake but the second time it happened when I inadvertently hooked the HDMI cable and ripped it out with considerable force. Fortunately, the HDMI socket on my Sony handled the extreme handling without sustaining any permanent damage. I tried Cable Protectors before but they were frustrating to use... that's why I decided to build a better cable strain relief device and came up with my design called Tuggers. The Cable Guardian is designed for protecting sockets by attaching it to cables sized around mains cable or up to a couple of HDMI or USB cables.
