Regular castle stonework seamless texture roller rolling pin 6" wide
thingiverse
Here's another shot at crafting a textured rolling pin (this time regular castle wall stonework) for making walls for your scenic (28mm) terrain. The model is 6 inches wide. One turn should theoretically give you a 6"x6" textured area to work with. It is based on a seamless (in both x & y directions) texture, so if you line it up correctly (put a mark on the side of the roller), it should produce a seamless pattern on your surface that's perfectly aligned. If you don't have a suitable paint roller handle, try using a screwdriver for the axis to get things rolling. For foam, you need quite high pressure to get a good pattern. Another standard medium is air-dry polymer clay on MDF or plastic card. Let the clay dry for 10 minutes then use the roller to add some texture. Use an old toothbrush to keep it clean and make sure your workspace is tidy. I print at 0.1mm to get best texture results, but you call the shots! Good luck, and don't be shy about sharing your results - we want to see what you've created! PS Any tips for beer are welcome now that I'm retired!
