Regolith Advanced Surface Systems Operations Robot (RASSOR) BUCKET DRUM
grabcad
The CAD model was created utilizing commercially pure titanium grade 4(SS) material, boasting a diameter of 408mm and featuring six scoops across one bucket in two distinct sizes to enhance efficiency during a single revolution of power. The varying scoop sizes are designed to accommodate different particle sizes, with the smaller scoop capable of collecting particles up to 18mm in size, while the larger scoop can collect particles up to 45mm effectively. Four buckets will be used in the drum, adhering to strict dimension requirements. Each bucket is equipped with 3.90mm teeth, which significantly improves the excavation process. The front and back parts of the bucket are assembled using standard M8-sized nuts and bolts, allowing for easy machinability of the back part via scooping. With a material thickness of 2.7mm, the bucket features two keyways where the shaft can be inserted and secured with keys.
