Marie Alexandra Victoria, commonly referred to as Marie of Romania, was born on October 29, 1875, and passed away on July 18, 1938. She became the last queen of Romania after marrying King Ferdinand I. Marie's birth into the British royal family earned her the title Princess Marie of Edinburgh from the start. Her parents were Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, and Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia.
