Refrigerator Magnet Closer

Refrigerator Magnet Closer

I tried just about everything to keep my refrigerator door shut when people (kids) closed it. The refrigerator door would appear to be mostly shut, but I would notice a slight line of light escaping and condensation when someone (kids) just barely closed it. I adjusted the hinges, replaced the door gasket, WD40, etc. but it needed just a little helping hand to stay 100% closed. I looked all over for a 3D model to solve the problem but I couldn't find anything that was unobtrusive and worked well. I had some time on my hands this week so I designed the following magnet-based closer. I printed in grey to match the stainless steel and glued it to the top of the refrigerator door where it was not noticeable. It works like a charm. Now, no matter who closes the refrigerator door, it closes with a satisfying, solid click. I printed in the orientation of the .STL for strength and glued a 60x10x3 mm neodymium magnet into the holder.
