Refrigerator Door Handle

The handle on our cheap Craigslist fridge broke a while ago. I originally made a replacement out of Lego, but when that broke too I decided to put the printer to work. I managed to make a robust handle that prints in 6 pieces so it can fit on a Prusa print bed. I also am including the Fusion 360 file so you can customize the hole spacing by moving the holes to your desired locations and extruding the pre-split bodies to fit. Also, the end caps have the same cutout and face geometry so if your handle only uses 2 bolts you just need to print the Top Cap once. I think this handle feels even better than the original, and quite sturdy too! Other parts I used were: 3x 32mm(1 1/4") SS fender washers (you can paint these for a cleaner look) 3x #10x32x1" pan head machine screws click here for the assembly animation Print instructionsPrint 2x Grip half, 2x Shear block, 1x Top cap. 1x Bottom cap Due to the large size of the grips I ended up using a close first layer height in order to keep the parts at the cooler bed corners stuck. If you need to do this too make sure to use elephant-foot compensation, or trim the bed contact edges after printing to make sure everything seats properly. It should be snug but not impossible to push together by hand. I used a 50° rotation and auto-arrange to position the grips. Only one fits on the print bed at a time. I found concentric top fill to look the nicest on the grips, and octagram spiral for the caps. I used 40% infill on the grips because I don't want them to break any time soon, but you could probably get away with 20%. The caps are fine at 20% infill. I added a 0.2mm clearance under the bridged sections so you should only need to remove support material under the caps. The grips and shear blocks print without supports. The shear blocks have a slight taper on the ends so print them on the end face. Double check your print preview to avoid extreme overhangs!
