Reflective RPM sensor mount for Taig mill
thingiverse
This is an experimental RPM sensor mount designed to friction-fit snugly behind a Taig mill's headstock without any modifications. Its purpose is to allow an optical sensor to point directly at the pulley, triggering on the passing of the set screw as it moves. To date, I have successfully printed the mount and installed a sensor, then hand-tested its basic operation using a simple power supply and LED setup. However, I have yet to test the system's performance at speed on an actual running mill, due in part to other pressing obligations that are unlikely to give me the time to conduct such a test in the near future.
