Refined Respirator Mask
thingiverse
Wanting to do my part in helping those around me, I printed one of the mask sets from the linked file but this was taking too long on my small 14cm build plate. So I looked around and found another free file that remixed the same design into three parts. However, even with low settings, this still posed a problem due to its long print time, so I decided to remix it into two parts that would print at the same time in half the print time - now 2 hours. Since the front cap no longer fit, I needed to find a way to remove the filter block. I solved this by cutting a small area inside the filter section that allowed easy access and removed the filter cap while keeping the area solid to hold the cap in place and the filter secure. I printed these masks at 13cm for adults, 11cm for juniors, and 9cm for toddlers. To finish the mask's edges around the mast for comfort, I used a silicone waterproof seal that I purchased from Amazon. This seal works well and is sticky. This project is based on a remix of the face shield above and the grid from GiveWay Studios as a free download, available at their website.
