Reference Chart for Laser Engraving

A frequent challenge I faced when working on my projects was determining the ideal engraving settings for a specific component. The type of material and its thickness dictate distinct settings to achieve the desired appearance. To simplify this process, I developed an easy-to-use chart featuring a form for laser engraver/cutter and material used, accompanied by numerous squares representing different black levels, serving as a reference point for engraving various materials. To utilize this chart effectively: 1. Setup: Simply record the type of laser engraver/cutter and material in use on the top fields and engrave the header onto the material. 2. Select a row of squares featuring varying black levels from 10% to 100%. 3. Choose the desired settings and engrave the squares using them. 4. Record the speed and power settings next to the engraved squares. 5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 with different settings and squares until all rows are used. 6. Store the chart in a dry location for future reference when engraving the same material again. This process is straightforward and efficient.
