Reespirator23 Protomolde
thingiverse
This model is used to make a mold in silicone and replicate the part of the Reespirator23 from the Twitter group @ReesistenciaT. Since it's not a durable piece, there's no need to use much plastic, just enough to achieve a surface that can be smoothed out so the parts taken from the mold are as perfect as possible. The process is simple: 1. Both pieces are printed. 2. The part of the model is placed inside the piece with walls, and it can be held in place by the lower part with packing tape or similar. 3. Silicone is poured while trying to avoid air bubbles. 4. After curing according to the manufacturer's instructions, the mold is removed, and any remaining residue is cleaned up. 5. The model of the walls is placed back inside to serve as a form and minimize any changes caused by pouring in the resin. 6. Polyurethane resin is poured in, and it's waited for until it reaches enough hardness to be demolded. 7. It's cooled down and the process is repeated again.
