Frustrated with repeatedly monitoring my printer during use with a new roll of filament, I took action by crafting two discs to secure around the spool shafts. To prevent loose wrapping and jumping of the drum that leads to filament entanglement and printing disruption, I added a 30mm ID spring that keeps the spool firmly pressed against the cabinet. This ingenious solution also creates gentle back tension on the filament, stopping it from unwinding off the drum altogether.
