Reef restoration on Curieuse, Seychelles

Approximately 10 minutes of belt traverse (a subsection of a much larger survey area) of a reef restoration plot on Curieuse, Seychelles was conducted. At one end of the model, concrete anchoring blocks for rope frames used to grow opportunistically found coral fragments are visible. The images used for this model are part of a shared-task data set utilized for ImageCLEFcoral 2019-21. Participants develop deep learning algorithms to annotate 13 types of biological substrate based on training data provided by us. https://www.imageclef.org/2021/coral The data was captured using a 5-camera array in a single pass in approximately one minute, resulting in 120 images total, extracted from video frames at one frame per second.
