I'm going to design a 3D printable housing for a reef-pi aquarium controller that Ranjib is creating on Reef2Reef. Check out the project here: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/reef-pi-an-opensource-reef-tank-controller-based-on-raspberry-pi.289256/ The designs consist of a main housing, known as the brain, and an 8 socket power board (available on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3024281). These parts are designed to be printed using any printer with a build volume of more than 200mm x 200mm. F360 files are included so you can modify them as needed. Main Housing / Brain This housing is printed in two parts, the box and lid, which are held together with M3 bolts or screws. An optional logo and text plate can also be added. The brain has mounting holes for: * A Raspberry Pi 3 (available at https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-3-model-b-plus.html) * A Half Size - RPi Proto Breadboard (available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Half-Size-Breadboard-Raspberry-Header/dp/B01DDANXQQ/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_147_tr_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=EKXFWMS3KFQXBTF9RTWV) On the front of the brain, there are holes for: * 2x DC barrel jacks and 2x RJ-45 keystone jacks to connect up to two 8 socket power boards (available on eBay at https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10PCS-Metal-DC-Power-Supply-Socket-Panel-Mount-Female-Jack-Connector-5-5-x-2-1mm-/391642099894?hash=item5b2fb030b6 and https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/25pcs-180-Degree-Angle-RJ45-UTP-Keystone-Wall-Jack-Coupler-Adapter-Cat6-/282353800189?hash=item41bd9913fd) * 2x RJ-45 keystone jacks for two I2C modules (could be a doser, lighting controller, pH module etc.) (available on eBay at https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/25pcs-180-Degree-Angle-RJ45-UTP-Keystone-Wall-Jack-Coupler-Adapter-Cat6-/282353800189?hash=item41bd9913fd) * 3x RJ-45 keystone jacks for temperature probes or other inputs/outputs (available on eBay at https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/25pcs-180-Degree-Angle-RJ45-UTP-Keystone-Wall-Jack-Coupler-Adapter-Cat6-/282353800189?hash=item41bd9913fd) * 8x audio jacks (can be used for water level switches etc) (available on eBay at https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-5mm-Stereo-Audio-Female-Jack-Socket-Connector-Panel-Mount-Solder-Lot-1-8-BS4-/252412113186?var=&hash=item0) * 2x DC barrel jacks for power in/out options (note: if you use 12v to power the reef-pi, you'll need a buck converter; there are no mounting holes for one) The brain housing is still a work in progress, and I haven't finished the final versions. The power board has been printed and wired up but not yet tested. A housing for a light controller & pH module will also be uploaded when it's designed. To make it easier to remix, a version of this housing with a blank I/O panel is available on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3660375 Please share any remixes you create!
