The pump on my Reef Octopus skimmer stopped working recently, and I decided to upgrade to a DC pump immediately. I couldn't recall the exact model of the skimmer, but the pump was an "Octopus Turbine Pump" model OTP-1000, which is still running strong in many aquariums.\r\n\r\nI ordered the Curve 7 version of the "Bubble Magus Curve 5 Curve 7 Pump Upgrade Kits" from www.fish-street.com, and everything arrived on schedule. However, I needed a special adapter to connect the new pump to the union on the skimmer body.\r\n\r\nI printed the Compact Skimmer Pump adapter at 50% infill, .2mm layer height with the stock .4mm nozzle using Overture transparent PETG, and it fit perfectly. I also printed the Skimmer Pump O-Ring out of Overture White TPU, which seals tightly on both ends.\r\n\r\nThe threads on the union side won't tighten up enough to seal without a proper o-ring, but with the correct o-ring in place, I've not noticed any microbubbles leaking into the sump. Since my skimmers are located inside the sump, I haven't tested this fitting with an externally mounted skimmer. Therefore, be extremely cautious if you decide to try it.\r\n\r\n
