Reed Insert for Zenner MNK Water Meter
thingiverse
I carefully crafted a custom reed-holder for our gas meter (Kromschröder G4) after thoroughly examining my other meters. A rubber insert in my Zenner MNK water meter caught my eye, serving as a placeholder for a reed contact. Given that the manufacturer sells the necessary part with loose wires for around 35 euros, I sought out a more affordable option - ultimately deciding to create one myself. To securely fasten the reed tube inside, I suggest placing it on a piece of masking tape and applying hot glue before gently pushing the reed tube down. Once soldering is complete, fill the space with additional hot glue for extra cable relief. When handling the meter, exercise extreme caution when screwing - I made the mistake of shortening my 2.5x12mm screws to approximately 6mm. If you inadvertently crack the acrylic cover, your meter will begin leaking water.
