RedSea - Orphek OR3 Mounting, Brace, Bracket
thingiverse
*** WARNING: I take no responsibility for any damages this could cause. With that said, i am very pleased with the amount of support and how solid everything feels. *** *** From the pictures the light bars are not centered on purpose. *** I designed the mounting system for the standard RedSea AI (hydra) mounting arms to add/retro fit 2 Orphek OR3 light bars for extra lighting. The system takes into account the added weight of the OR3s, but I also designed some relief to the back glass, by bolting the brace to the wall. ***if you are not close to the wall, i would highly suggest adding some type of support to the brace, or the arms may bend adding unnecessary stress to the back glass, where the default mounts attach.*** This system requires some basic aluminum strips that can be found at a big box store like Lowes or Home Depot. I specifically used the following, since i had it laying around: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Steelworks-3-ft-x-0-75-in-Aluminum-Solid/3053641 I decided to go with aluminum, just for piece of mind, but i am sure you could utilize a 3d printed part, just be sure to take into account material and weight over a distance. I also, painted the aluminum since its hanging over saltwater 24/7. Extras: - The project includes templates for aluminum cuts and holes, be sure to double check for your specific needs. - Steps files for any edits you need to make for your system.
