Redesigned Neato Dirtbin - XV, Signature

Redesigned Neato Dirtbin - XV, Signature

thingiverse

Just over a month into development, I'm excited to introduce a redesigned dirtbin for the Neato. This new design is built on the signature model but will likely fit the XV series perfectly. The redesign tackles many issues that plagued the original dirt bin, including: * A poorly designed inlet prone to blockages * A poorly designed filter that clogs quickly * A missing chamfer on the dirt outlet (filter), making it slightly more difficult to empty the bin During my testing, I noticed that the redesigned dirtbin compresses dirt much better and can pick up significantly more debris. After printing: A Roomba 880 or 900 dirtbin filter is used as the filter, while 2mm thick foam is used as the gasket for the inlet. For reference, you can check out the forum thread here: robotreviews.com/chat/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=19456 Here are my print settings: * Printer: Custom * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.2 * Infill: 20% I used the Cura engine in Repetier Host, and the model is optimized for: Shell thickness: 1.2mm Top/Bottom thickness: 0.8mm Infill: 20% (my printer's optimal settings) Speed: 70mm/s, 50 jerk, 1000 accel. I highly recommend using a hard plastic like PLA to slow down the wear on the tabs that click the bin in place. Just remember to make sure your printer is calibrated - this model contains tight tolerances.
