Redesigned Neato Dirtbin
myminifactory
Just over a month in development, the Neato dirtbin has undergone a complete redesign. This new model is based on the signature design but will likely fit the XV series perfectly. The redesign tackles several issues with the original Neato dirt bin, including: A poorly designed inlet that's prone to blockages, A poorly designed filter that clogs very quickly, And a missing chamfer on the dirt outlet (Filter) making it slightly more difficult to empty the bin. During testing, dirt has been much more compressed (As seen in the pictures), allowing for easier pickup of debris. Printing setup: The model was optimized using Cura engine in repetier host with the following settings: Shell thickness: 1.2mm Top/Bottom thickness: 0.8mm Infill: 20% Printing speed: 70mm/s, 50 jerk, 1000 accel on my 3D printer. I recommend printing with a hard plastic like PLA to slow down the wear on the tabs that click the bin in the Neato. Warning: Make sure your printer is well-calibrated! This model contains tight tolerances. After printing: A Roomba 880 or 900 dirt bin filter was used as the filter, and 2mm thick foam was used as the gasket for the inlet.
