Redcat Racing Shredder Front Arm
thingiverse
Redcat Shredder arms broke immediately after first crashes so I designed a 3D printed replacement. I tried PLA, ABS, NYLON, an eventually ended up with TPU. ABS and NYLON worked decent but always ended up breaking at the hinge pin even tried Taulman 910 and 645 but still ran into snapping. TPU ended up working out the best and I guarantee it will be impossible to break this arm. I have been sending it off 20 foot jumps in 10 degree weather and have not broken it yet. As far as stiffness I have only tested this arm in the winter so idk if it will become flexible in warmer weather but ripping it off road and on BMX tracks I have not noticed any difference in control. I think the extra thickness I added to the arm compensates the flex. For printing I used Zyltech TPU It is not as good as Sainsmart but it is cheap and works really well on my Prusa Mk3 when I have the hot end at 252 degrees and a 50 degree bed. I would also recommend reducing the print speed to 50% and turn retractions to 0% for more reliable prints and make sure you print the arm at 30 degree angle and with a 100% infill to get the strongest prints. I will be posting the rear arms after I break them lol
