This is a high-performance center-of-gravity shorty battery tray conversion designed specifically for the Redcat Racing Gen 8 International Harvester Scout II crawler. By relocating the battery tray to the front, you can achieve maximum weight distribution while maintaining an extremely low center-of-gravity. Three precision-engineered mounting combinations allow for fine-tuning of the weight bias to perfection. To get started, gather the following essential hardware: 7 pieces: M3x12mm countersink head screws You will also need to reuse the existing screw located under the right front inner fender. This is installed in the same manner as the "Sideways Battery Tray Conversion" offered by Redcat Racing on their Thingiverse page. Simply copy and paste the instructions below, keeping in mind that you'll need to relocate your ESC from the right side to the left, just behind the Gen 8's receiver box. This strategic move helps balance the weight distribution between the two sides, resulting in less than 10g of weight offset. To install this high-performance system, begin by removing the original battery tray from the vehicle. Reuse the screw that mounts the front of the battery tray to the side rail for the sideways battery mount installation. Using three pieces of M3x12mm screws and the original side rail button head screw, securely fasten the sideways battery mount to the vehicle. Next, attach the battery tray to the mount using four pieces of M3x12mm screws. You're free to position the tray wherever you see fit, but we recommend starting with a more rearward placement and adjusting as needed.
