Redcat Everest-10 Velcro Body Mount (w/Rock Sliders)
thingiverse
Human: Velcro body mounts for Redcat's 1:10 scale Everest-10 rock crawler are a great idea. Redcat's design makes the top of the vehicle look nice, but getting the mount holes right can be a real challenge when setting up a new body. This concept is based on a YouTube video that shows velcro body mounts for a Redcat Ground Pounder. The mounts replace the stock body pin posts and provide a surface for heavy-duty velcro to use in place of the pins. The stock screws for the body mount posts tap into the opening nicely, which is 12mm deep. I used M3x12 screws for mine, but you could use up to a 14mm long screw since the chassis wall is about 3mm thick. As the inspiration video suggests, use the soft side of the velcro on the frame and the rough side on the body so it doesn't scratch the inside accidentally. I used a razor blade to trim the velcro down to match the size of the mount. The velcro has very strong adhesive, but I haven't tried removing it from the inside of the body. You could remove the body mount and go back to the pins if you open the holes through the velcro on the body so the pins can fit through. # Links: * Redcat Everest-10 * VELCRO Brand Industrial Strength Fasteners, Tape, 4ft x 2in * Inspiration Video
