Redcat Everest-10 Upper Link Mount
thingiverse
The steering range on the Everest-10 is pretty bad in its original setup. I had read about some modifications to make the steering range better and was looking at ways to accomplish it. One of the recommendations to increase steering was to pivot the axle back so the servo sits more flat. It is pitched very far forward stock. Spreading the upper links apart was also mentioned as a means to reduce torque twist. The solution called out in what I was reading was to create custom upper links that are shorter, but I wanted to maintain the stock hardware as much as possible. So I created this part to fit between the mount posts and sandwich below the servo mount plate and accomplish both outcomes together. The upper links are attached with 2 M3x12 screws self-tapped into the mount. I'm still testing it, but it is holding up well using the PLA+ filament. I had already ground down the bump-stops to increase the range. That modification plus this seems to have it steering with more authority than before. I was very unsightly and forgot to measure the turning radius before I put the part in, but the rear-to-rear measurement with the modification is 65". (If anyone has a stock E-10 they can measure turning radius against a tape measure that would be awesome) It does not appear to have improved the torque twist though.
