"Red Swan" the biggest fully printed Flying Wing

The beauty of the ugly duckling shone through as a swan soared into reality, with Hans Christian Andersen's timeless tale unfolding before our very eyes. Indeed, I am well aware that it wasn't an ethereal swan, but its incredible flying capabilities were on full display, rivaling even those of a sailplane. You can clearly see this in the video, which was shot with a mini cam mounted on this bird in flight: http://youtu.be/FHDhLBsC3_M. As I had previously announced on "Red Duck" at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:407766, the wing span was expanded to an impressive 1950 mm, which necessitated the extension of the nose by another 100 mm, taking its weight from 400g to compensate for the additional weight added. To make it even more challenging, tracking the movements of this magnificent creature proved a difficult task, particularly when following its intricate aerobatics flown perfectly by Marcel from http://www.aero-club-nieder-eschbach.de – capped off with a remarkable soft landing.http://youtu.be/nOk2-1Ne3AAhttp://youtu.be/pcUCgJdKLq0 A harrowing crash landing can be witnessed at Inter-Ex 2015, a testament to the unwavering resolve of this remarkable flying machine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAaHncWUqNs. Meanwhile, it earned itself the prestigious Innovation-trophy on that occasion:http://www.jivaro-models.org/interex_2015/index.html http://www.inter-ex.com If you're looking to stay up-to-date with our latest endeavors, I encourage you to join my Club: http://hackerspace-ffm.de
