Please read description carefully and check all thumbnails before buy. Developed in Blender 3.2.1 This model, developed in metric system, depicts an actual excerpt of martian relief and it was derived from general purpose imagery. Dimensions are approximately 5kms wide by 18kms length and 300 meters from lowest to highest elevation. The terrain mesh is a regular triangulated grid with low resolution base texture (.png), processed to achieve an higher level of detail by adding a nested rocky soil pbr texture using only normal and displacement maps. A special nodal algorithm ensures mitigation of the annoying tiling effect. To increase detail, two sets of dark rocks (textured) were scattered at variable scale throughout the lower terrain elevations (isolated object and only active in render for better handling performance). Both can be adjusted in number and scale as they are controlled by particle systems. A lower resolution terrain model was scaled up and placed slightly beneath the main terrain model to extend horizon. Several road paths were added (lighter texture color) to enable prompt scale perception (six meters constant width). The scene uses two light sources (point type and sun type) and they work together on scene illumination. Finally, a standard sunset hdri environment was processed to achieve a dust storm effect, scale adjusted to reduce apparent dimensions of the sun and the color brought close to blueish tone (Mars sunset alike). Compositor mist filter is setup and ready to adjust horizon saturation level (haze amount and extension). The model is suited for both large scale scenario or detailed ground level scenes and includes a thorough set of tweakable parameters that must be changed in order to get the most of rendering result, depending on which one we’re going to work. The package includes a brief guide on which parameters should be changed and the most suitable values for interchange between a broader to a detailed scene. I’m sure this will save you precious time. I'm including also a .zip file as backup. Perseverance rover model obviously NOT INCLUDED, used only for scale perception purposes but it is available at NASA/JPL-Caltech web resources for general public use.
