See the impressive collection of Ornamental Stones from the Vermio Mountains in Greece! Numbered specimen 2079 measures 16 x 8 x 2 cm. This stunning Metamorphic rock is classified as a medium to coarse-grained, non-foliated, metamorphosed carbonate rock. It's primarily composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and is mostly made up of limestone and calcite mineral, with dolomite rock and dolomite mineral present in smaller amounts. In geology, marble has a more specific meaning than its usage in commerce. Its applications are vast, serving as both rough stone for building construction and polished slabs for decorative purposes. Essential minerals found in this specimen include Calcite, while non-essential minerals such as Graphite, Pyrite, and Ilmenite can also be present but not always.
