Red Hat and Bow
thingiverse
This was made for my mom who is in the Red Hats club. After printing, I glued a pin back to the hat so she can wear it on her outfit (the costume I like to call it). I can already imagine the question you're asking yourself. What does a Christmas Tree have to do with a Red Hat Ladies pin? The answer is simple: nothing at all. But I did use the base of the tree as inspiration for the hat, so it's only fair to give credit where credit is due. The bow from the package should be fairly obvious in its design. By the way, don't worry about missing a cardinal - I only had one photo of the finished hat available. I printed the hat with Red Crystal Series PLA that came with the December GeekBox and used the ribbon from MakerGeek's Purple ABS. To get the most out of the PLA material, be sure to print it hot and slow. Pay close attention to the bow orientation on your build platform. There is a taper on one inside edge that fits perfectly with the curve of the hat. If you print it upside down (with the taper facing down), you won't get a smooth fit.
