Red Bird
thingiverse
Create your own red bird from the popular game by using a 3D printer and laser cutter along with acrylic paint. To do this, follow these instructions: firstly, print the redbirdbody.stl file (a small rhombicosidodecahedron) in red ABS at approximately 3 inches in x, y, and z dimensions; if unavailable, use white ABS and paint with acrylic or spray paint for plastic. Secondly, print two beak files in yellow ABS: scale the lower beak to around (0.7 inches x, 0. 8 inches y, 0.67 inches z) and the upper beak to (0.7 inches x, 0.8 inches y, 1.33 inches z). Thirdly, paint the belly area with white acrylic or spray paint for plastic; you can create a decagon-shaped belly by painting a pentagon surrounded by one row of squares and rectangles. Fourthly, laser cut feather tuft, tail, and eye pieces using 1/8" black, white, and red acrylic. Lastly, join the beak pieces and laser cut pieces to the bird body using Tenax-7R plastic welder. If desired, apply a thin layer of acetone on non-painted ABS areas for a shiny finish.
