Red Baron II: Hand Launched Biplane Glider

"Red Baron II: Hand Launched Biplane Glider" is the result of thoughtful comments and emails I received about my "Red Baron Hand Launched Glider" model, which reminded me that Snoopy's doghouse was imagined as a biplane Sopwith Camel. In response to those reminders, here's the biplane! This model is designed for indoor or calm weather outdoor flying, just like its monoplane counterpart. The design combines a 3D printed fuselage structure with balsa wood flight surfaces to minimize weight and increase glide performance. With only three 3D printed fuselage components and three templates used for cutting six flight surfaces from 1/32" balsa wood, this model is easy to print, assemble, and fly. I used 3D printed templates to cut the flight surfaces, knowing there would be many more to make. As usual, I may have forgotten a file or two, so if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask – I make plenty of mistakes! This model was designed using Autodesk Fusion 360, sliced with Cura 3.4.1, and printed in PLA on both an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
