Red Baron Hand Launched Glider

The Red Baron Hand Launched Glider is a hybrid model that seamlessly blends 3D printed PLA with lightweight balsa wood. Weighing just 11g before balancing, this impressive glider boasts the iconic Mr. Schulz "Snoopy" character at the controls of his flying doghouse. Engineered for smooth indoor and calm outdoor flights, this aircraft is a true marvel of miniaturized engineering. The design team cleverly combines a robust 3D printed fuselage structure with precision-cut balsa wood flight surfaces to achieve exceptional glide performance while keeping weight to a minimum. Constructed from just three 3D printed fuselage components and three 3D printed templates, this model is an absolute breeze to print, assemble, and launch into the air. To simplify the process even further, I employed 3D printed templates for cutting the flight surfaces, knowing that future iterations would benefit from this streamlined approach. As with any intricate project, it's possible that a crucial file or two may have slipped my mind, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you encounter any issues. The Red Baron Hand Launched Glider was meticulously designed using Autodesk Fusion 360 and expertly sliced with Cura 3.4.1 before being printed in high-quality PLA on both an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
