Recycled Bottle Coat Hanger

Recycled Bottle Coat Hanger

thingiverse

This eco-friendly hanger was designed based on a concept by Chinese designer Xuan Yu for an environmentally conscious friend. To create this innovative item, two bottles were recycled using TOM's capabilities. Note that the holes for the bottles aren't threaded; a compression fit works well instead. This design is part of a final project for CPSC 183 Technology and the Law at Yale University, where students create objects based on friends' requests that can be printed on Makerbot TOM. After printing and cleaning, use a Dremel tool to trim bottle threads and ensure a good fit without cracking the part. Apply superglue for stability or try screwing in the bottles (scale up by 3-5% if desired). Alternatively, push the bottle top directly into the socket. Uploaded to Thingiverse for others to enjoy!
