Recreus Extruder - Quick-Fit
thingiverse
In our second installment of Gyrobot's Extruder Week, we present an upgraded version of the original extruder with a RichRap Quick-Fit compatible base. This easy-to-install feature is perfect for flexible printing. For those who prefer the Base Mountable version, it is available here. The new design also includes a slot for an M6 captive nut to accommodate your choice of hotend or the Recreus style one. Flexible filament printing is supported with a full filament insert after the MK7 gear wheel. To learn more about printing with flexible filament, check out this article. Printing this extruder requires support due to the Nema motor recess in the rear of the model. If you're using an M6 all-metal hotend mounted directly into the extruder, a 40x10 cooling fan on the front face blowing air over the heatsink is necessary. The design allows for a 40mm square fan or fan ducting to be installed using provided holes in the Quick-Fit carriage. Don't forget to drill the hole if inserting a PTFE liner. To assemble, insert the M6 captive nut for the hot-end and the M5 captive nut for the tensioner. The tensioner requires an M5 locknut, M5 screw, 4mm spring, bearing 624, and an M4 screw for the bearing. For more detailed instructions, visit Gyrobot's website or Facebook page.
