This model represents a highly ornamented cylindrical bronze container unearthed from the grave of an Anglo-Saxon woman discovered in a cemetery excavated at Bulford. The vessel belongs to a class known as a 'work box', 'thread box' or 'relic box'; regardless of its intended purpose, it would have been a treasured personal possession. Current dating suggests that the cemetery site dates back to the 7th-8th century AD. The model was created from scratch using conventional archaeological illustration methods to capture the various details from the original object, which, due to its fragile nature, has not yet been documented through photogrammetry. Utilizing these meticulously measured sketches, the model was constructed in 3DS Max with the intricate decorative detail sculpted in zBrush. This model was built utilizing Autodesk 3DS Max 2015, Pixologic zBrush 4r7, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
