Children can learn to reassemble numbers using two Montessori bead strips by mastering nine key plates. This initial approach introduces addition and its commutative property through hands-on number object manipulation. I utilize this method in independent workshops following a group discovery activity. Each child must find all possible combinations of a given number, one plate at a time, with only two beads used per solution. Once the plate is filled with diverse solutions, including 2+3 and 3+2, which are deemed equivalent, it is validated. This learning tool consists of a tray measuring 15 x 15 x 1.5 cm in size. Children can begin working on this concept from the age of five.
