Recoil Laser Tag Mods
thingiverse
Recoil Games by Skyrocket is an awesome laser tag system, and I'm excited to share some mods I've created for the system. My goal is to design non-destructive mods that add functionality without compromising the integrity of the system. The first item on my list is a replacement battery door for the recoil hub. This new door allows you to attach adapters to elevate the hub off the ground, providing optimal results during gameplay. The adapter can be secured with M3 cap head bolts, which I highly recommend purchasing here: https://amzn.to/36pmfWY. To create this mod, you'll need to print the door with supports. However, the adapters don't require any supports. Here's a list of parts you'll need for the LiPo Battery Mod: * Rouge SR-12 * Battery Terminals - https://amzn.to/37pYdeE * Battery Switch - https://amzn.to/2u7xtRY (Note: I shortened the terminals on the back of the switch to prevent interference with the battery. Be cautious not to create sharp edges that could damage the battery.) * Battery Connector (optional) - https://amzn.to/35bWVlZ * Battery - https://amzn.to/2ZMcO1C * Voltage Regulator - https://amzn.to/36cVsgN * Voltage Monitor - https://amzn.to/2MLrjgC (This specific model is loud, so I removed one of the two buzzers to make it quieter. You can find a similar device with only one buzzer or adjust the dimensions accordingly.) * Balance Lead Extension - https://amzn.to/2srzYhD * Bolts/Screws - https://amzn.to/36bduA0 (I used M3x8 and M3x12 bolts, but you can use an M3x12 for both without any issues.) Mods in Progress: 1. Rouge Rifle LiPo Battery Replacement: This mod replaces the existing battery compartment with new 3D printed parts to hold a 3s LiPo battery and appropriate regulator and switch. Working prototypes are complete, and I'm refining them now. Current Version: The main part is the compartment that replaces the stock (orange) battery hatch. It holds the lipo battery, switch, and optional volt monitor. Since I'm using a voltage regulator, I wanted a switch to disconnect the battery from the regulator when not in use. The voltage monitor is designed to slide in and out, allowing it to be disconnected when not needed. The second part replaces the stock AA battery tray and holds the voltage regulator with metal battery terminals to connect to the Rouge's existing battery terminals. Mods Planned: 1. Spitfire LiPo Battery Replacement: Replace the existing battery with a 2s LiPo. 2. Rouge LiPo Battery Replacement Mark 2: Redesign this mod to remove the battery without tools, possibly incorporating a stock extender as well. 3. Rouge Cosmetic Barrel Extender/Silencer: Create a screw-on silencer-like extension for aesthetics only.
