Reciprocating Dwell Time Geneva Mechanism
grabcad
A Geneva mechanism with two acting pins connected by gears, along with a single cross, has been modeled in Solidworks 2016. The input is continuous, causing the output to rotate 90 degrees forward before pausing, then returning to its original position with another pause, and restarting the process. Rendered with Simlab Composer 7 Mechanical Edition, the animation was edited into an AVI/X264 format BMP file. Using Virtualdub for frame editing, it was remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui. Gifs were created using PhotoScape and renders were edited in IrfanView. The 3D-PDF, ZIM, and SIMLAB files contain animations which can be viewed on IOS and Android devices through the free Simlab Viewer app. This model is available in multiple formats including Solidworks 2016, Simlab Composer 7, DAE, STEP, IGES, Parasolid, OBJ, 3D-PDF, SketchUp, 3DS, and ZIM.
