To disguise any unattractive gaps, adjust this accordingly to your application, render it, and print it out. Depending on how you plan to attach it, you may only need 4-8 magnets per ring (check out http://www.homedepot.com/p/Magcraft-Rare-Earth-1-8-in-x-1-16-in-Disc-Magnet-100-Pack-NSN0566/204721213), but I drilled holes for 32 just in case. You can always reduce those or skip some. I intend to use a paste mixed with iron filings and haven't tested its effectiveness yet. Also, I didn't look up the correct spelling of "soffit" before naming these files. Use the provided php script to generate a new cross-section. Make sure to manually add endpoints that will produce a flat bottom if your equations don't naturally yield one, like I did with [-12.75,0] and [13.5,0] at either end of the path. I've included the means for generating a complete ring, a split ring, a sample piece to check that the width is sufficient without wasting too much plastic, and a pair of sample pieces to verify that split rings interlock correctly. You'll need https://github.com/openscad/scad-utils and sweep.scad from https://github.com/openscad/list-comprehension-demos to use these scad files.
