Recess base for minis
thingiverse
I'm thrilled with the versatility of being able to craft my own miniatures on demand, yet I wish the success rate was higher than 1 in 10! I also appreciate the capability of creating my own bases but dislike the feather-light weight that comes from all the plastic. So, I decided to design a base featuring a recess on the underside, allowing for the secure attachment of a small coin or washer. The base itself measures 1 inch in diameter (25.4mm) and is approximately 1/8 inch thick (3.175mm). The recess has a diameter of ¾ inch (19.05mm) and is about 3/32 inch deep (2.38125mm). I use the Fat Dragon profile to print these bases, and you will need a Dremel tool and razor knife to remove all stringing that occurs during printing. The size of this base should be suitable for games like D&D, Saga, etc.
