Recalbox Portable
thingiverse
This portable retro gaming console is a breeze to build and budget-friendly, making it accessible to anyone. The goal was to simplify the process of creating a portable game console for everyone, even those with limited tools on hand. If you've managed to assemble one, please share your experience with me. To provide a clear understanding, I'll outline the advantages and disadvantages of this project. Pros: Build time is remarkably short at just 2.5 hours (excluding printing time), making it an efficient endeavor. The console features high-quality displays, including a DPI LCD with a resolution of 800*600 and a 2.8" screen. It utilizes the original SNES gamepad, eliminating the need to create or source additional controllers. Assembly is screw-free, with parts snapping together for easy repair or enhancement. Battery life ranges from five to six hours, providing ample gaming time. Cons: The distribution of mass could be improved for a more balanced design. Charging and using the console simultaneously requires an external charger and battery. Please note that some users have reported the LCD is not centered (referring to accompanying images).
