Rear Rim for OpenRC F1 Differential 2017
prusaprinters

Note 10/10/2017:

I've had two people comment that this wheel isn't working properly with the axle and bearing. I've marked as work in progress so print at your own risk and I'll update the design or post any new information on how to make this work as I get it.

Just a simple remix of Daniel's original front rim from the original OpenRC F1 but with an extra 10mm inserted to stretch it to match the new 2017 updated rear rims and tires. This allows you to add the awesome differential by tahustvedt yet let it work and match the new, wider 2017 designed rear end.

I am publishing this before I've even finished printing the differential and have yet to assemble or run the car. That said, I would consider this a work in progress and if you have any issues, please leave a comment and I'll try to take care of it.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

Prusa Mk2

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

.2

Infill:

20%

Notes:

Make sure the outside of the finished rim is pointing up. I had the original front rims fail without support so I recommend using support for this remix.

Post-Printing

Printed with supports. Keep finished side up.

Still printing differential but this shows how both rims match.
How I Designed This

Inventor 2018

I simply imported the original Front Rim into Inventor 2018 and then split it right in the middle of the hub area. I added a 10mm extrusion and then reconnected the two parts to create the new STL which now matches the overall dimensions of the new 2017 updated Rear Rims but allows the use of the new differential and associated bearings.

Category: R/C Vehicles
