Rear Lens Cap - ARRI S Mount lens

A custom rear lens cap for ARRI S mount lenses was crafted in house to save a substantial amount of cash by spending $80 on an existing one that wasn't needed. After experimenting with this homemade cap, it turned out to be quite easy to remove and replace once the tight initial fit wore off. This innovative project started with the use of FreeCAD to bring it into existence. The STL file for this creation is openly shared online so that others can modify or print their own ARRI S mount rear lens cap. Accessible on GitHub, these source files give users complete freedom to explore different design variations. When printing out the part, excellent results were achieved by utilizing HIPS filament with the following parameters: layer height at 0.22 mm and wall thickness set at 1.05 mm with a 20% fill density applied in that specific order. Printing layers this small does bring about improved looks but as for functionality, the tight fit will be perfectly preserved.
