I have depreciated this model in favor of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2667913. One major drawback of the original design is that it hits the printer frame, so extending the X end-stop becomes necessary to prevent printhead collisions with the frame; as a result, print area is reduced by about 0.5cm. I reworked the design to avoid this issue and make it thinner and lighter: from 13.47g to 9.52g (approximately 30% lighter). To meet assembly recommendations, I suggest printing out a draft design, mounting it on the printhead, installing the BLTouch, and then measuring the distance between the base of the BLTouch (not the pin but the plastic base) and the tip of the nozzle. The base of the BLTouch should be 8.3mm (+/-0.2mm) above the tip of the nozzle. To measure this distance accurately, it's best to use the printer display - the Z height displayed is in mm, making it easier to determine the difference between two values. One approach could be: place an object on the bed and move the Z-axis until the nozzle barely touches the object; take note of the Z position. Then, relocate the object so that only the BLTouch's plastic base meets the object; adjust the Z-axis until the BLTouch barely touches the object; take note of the new Z position. By subtracting these two values, you can determine the distance between the tip of the nozzle and the BLTouch's plastic base. Perform the necessary calculations to find out how short or long the draft BLTouch is for your printer. Contact me with the new dimension, and I'll provide a tailored BLTouch holder. See the 2D drawing for more details.
