Realsky HDRI Overcast 1440 Description: This 32-bit HDRI map enables the use of highly detailed real-world lighting to illuminate your 3D scenes, a technique known as "Image-Based Lighting". This map offers ultra-high detail (15k) and high dynamic range in 32-bit per channel .exr format. The map itself and supplied 15k jpeg image provide enough resolution for a cinema-quality backplate. The map was captured from a real sky using auto-bracketing and stitched from RAW files for optimal quality. Included formats in the zip file: • 15k (15000×7500 pix) 32-bit EXR file • 15k (15000×7500 pix) 8-bit tonemapped JPEG file Measured Dynamic Range: 4.5 EVs (Highest dynamic contrast available on the market) Sun Altitude: 22 degrees Shooting Time: 14:40 At 41st parallel in October and at 14:40, it produces a 22-degree sun angle. You can calculate the correct time of day for your project using this angle and latitude-longitude coordinates. Tools like Vray Sun or Mental Ray Sun include algorithms for calculation. If you experience memory issues and don't require super high-resolution renders, you can scale down the EXR map with Photoshop and use a lower-res version. For example, I used a 2k version when rendering sample renders of this file. This map is also available in Realsky HDRI Six Pack 2.
