The idea was to make an easy to build HOTAS kit with as few difficult to get pieces as possible, that can also be modded and hacked easily. Every surface is designed to be as flat as possible to make it easy to drill and cut to add additional buttons, lights and knobs. The base has it's own microcontroller and the stick connects to the base using a sturdy 4pin aircraft plug. The stick has it's own microcontroller so you can have plenty of inputs on each piece. The sticks are also hot swappable so you can have different ones ready for different games, the microcontrollers communicate using I2C and can even link up to a second, third or 254th device so you can chain a throttle, button box etc. If you want to make it yourself you'll need: 2 x Arduino Pro Micro 1 x 4p Aircraft plug male & female GX16-4P 4 x push buttons (10mm diameter you can choose your favourite) 2 x 5 way hat switches (SKQUCAA010) 2 x WH148 B10k 15mm potentiometers 8 x 8mm M3 bolts 2 x 14mm M3 bolts 1 x 4mm M3 bolt 1 x GE12C Spherical Bearing 2 x 0.7x5x25 tension springs. enough wire to connect everything The code is still being tested and tweaked and isn't publicly available yet, but it allows configuring the firmware through your computer and setting what every buttons, knob and dial does. Since components can be daisy chained together using I2C, there can be hundreds of inputs.
