Really Tiny Printable Extrusion
thingiverse
THIS is a remarkably affordable 3D printing material that's surprisingly robust even in PLA. Designed specifically for use with 2mm screws, which are ridiculously inexpensive on eBay from Chinese suppliers. I was producing massive monolithic computer cases and components with my 3D printer, but when a print went wrong, I'd often discard huge amounts of plastic due to minor defects like missing edges. It wasn't until after an embarrassingly long period that I realized I should design computer cases the way I build 3D printers – by printing large flat sections that can be easily assembled using soldering irons or simple "I" plates. With a few cheap bolts, I can create any outrageous computer case my imagination desires.
