Starter pack of 5 Cloud to Air Lightnings - $6 bundle savings. These realistic Lightning 3D models are designed to blend seamlessly into any kind of background environment and render very quickly. The mesh is optimized for low polycount and can be used in games as well. Total Polygons: 46,074 Total Vertices: 46,322 The Lightning geometry is made in real world scale ~ 8km height (which is the average height of Lightnings), but can be scaled up or down to fit your needs. It will still look great in renders, whether scaled up or down. Scene units - m (meters). This model uses V-Ray rendering format. If you are using another renderer, you'll still be able to use the geometry but you'll need to make your own materials since they aren't included. Every branch of the Lightning can be easily selected if you want to animate different illumination and timings per branch for spectacular slow motion animations. All elements have UVW unwrapped to prevent any overlapping and are available to apply textures as needed. The model is embedded with a Vertex Color map (which can be baked to texture if desired). Don't hesitate to adjust the brightness of the light materials to best match your scene and camera settings. They are properly named, easy to set up and separated by branch size for ease. The glow of the main bolt was achieved using V-Ray Lens effects Bloom + Glare and is turned on in the included setup. You can easily turn this off if you want to add your own special effects. Rendered against a black background, these lightnings will be perfect to seamlessly integrate into your image via 'Screen' or 'Lighten' mode in Photoshop or similar software. You can also use this model as a light source by merging it with other elements in your scene. A helpful V-Ray rendering tip has been included as part of the package. The models are easy to import using drag and drop. You'll find that there are no background objects, cameras or additional lights to complicate things. These 3D Lightnings models can be imported using most common 3d software compatible with 3dsMax 2010. They have been exported in several formats - including FBX, OBJ and 3DS (no materials included). When you import the model, depending on your software of choice it may appear a little differently from the preview images, this could result in some additional manual tweaks required.
